The Bund, Shanghai (thebrokepacker) |
The Bund has been the icon of Shanghai for many years. This place is actually a waterfront area in Zhongshan Road which is in the middle of Shanghai.
After eating at 'Lost Heaven', I and my friends walked to The Bund. Fortunately, the sky was not covered by pollution so that we could enjoy the reflection of lights from fascinating skyscrapers on Huangpu River and took a bunch of wefies there. However, the lights will not illuminate nightlong. I am not sure about the exact time, but I can only enjoy it before midnight.

Zhongshan Road has another main attraction. There are 52 western classical buildings along the road which consist of banks, hotels, branded stores, and high-end restaurants and cafe where you are able to see the Bund from the rooftop. We tried one of the fancy cafes named House of Roosevelt. They provided cocktails, juices, and afternoon tea set. It was quite pricey but the rooftop view was overwhelming.
If you plan to visit Shanghai, please make sure that you have included the Bund in your itinerary.
